Quick Tip: Photoshop save slices without creating images folder

August 8, 2015

One of the minor annoyances that I run into from time to time is saving slices from a PSD.

Once I have my slices defined and selected a folder Photoshop will save all my images in the folder I specified. However it will also create an images folder and place the images this folder. This means I that after saving the files they must be moved out of this folder.

I recently found out it doesn’t have to be this way. In order to modify this behaviour perform the following steps:

1. Slice your PSD as normal. Select “Save for Web”

Save for Web dialog

2. Choose your format options as normal and select “Save…”

Photoshop save dialog

3. In the Settings drop down select Other

Settings dropdown options

4. Deselect the check box on “Put Images in Folder”

Photoshop save options dialog

That’s it :-)
