Blanchardstown, handy distance from everywhere in Ireland?
April 20, 2009After trying out a few of the Irish online shops for our equipment, I settled on Komplett about a year ago. They have good prices, a comprehensive selection and an easily navigable website. All happy out. Not quite.
A while ago, they changed their online delivery options, which I think is very confusing. I needed to purchase a SATA hard drive. Having located the item on their site, I went to purchase it. Everything seemed to go well, and I waited for the product to arrive. Time went by, and I’ll admit, it slipped my mind.
About 1-2 months passed, and I thought “wait a sec, where’s my hard drive”. I rang up komplett to enquire about where it was. The conversation went a little something like this:
(Me) I ordered a hard drive, order id bla, where is it? (Mssr Komplett) It’s in Blanchardstown. (Me) Emmmm, that’s not quite where I need it. (Mssr Komplett) But sir, you selected “Pick up at Komplett” when you ordered the product. (Me) No, why would I do that. I’m not going to spend half a day hauling my ass out to west Dublin to pick up a hard drive. So, can I get it delivered from the pick up point. (Seeing as it wasn’t my money I was spending, you can charge me any excess, within reason) (Mssr Komplett) No sir, we can’t do that. We have to post the item back to the Holland warehouse, and then ship it back to you (Me) k, that’s crazy, isn’t there anything you can do? (Mssr Komplett) Nope (Me) Cancel the order (Mssr Komplett) Ok, but I would of had to do that anyway to get it re-sent (Me) Goodbye
After a little investigation, I found that Komplett now doesn’t appear to like delivery. I went onto komplett and did a test order, and when it came to delivery options, this is what I saw:
404
Keep in mind that the address given is in Dublin city center. So, all in all, in programming parlance: num_komplett_customers–;
