My 2nd Bike
January 9, 2009I got a new bike, a Honda Hornet 250. It’s a lovely little bike, Japanese import because this model was never released outside Japan. It redlines at 16,000 RPM and can reach up to 180 Km/h. I bought it at Tallaght Superbikes and Autos. It’s very easy to ride and is perfect for jinking in and out of traffic. I bought because while the cbf 250 is a great starter bike, it just doesn’t cut it outside the city. I remember once coming home it nearly cut out in heavy wind on the Naas road at just 80 Km/h. Not nice. The only downside I can see is fuel. The CBF 250 would go about 5-6 days without needing a refueling. The Hornet goes about 2-3, hmmm. Also, there’s no fuel gauge, so it’s back to the tripometer and I am now an expert at switching to the reserve fuel tank while in motion o_o
